Are AI photos allowed on Vinted? Rules and limitations
Vinted requires your own photos and prohibits image editing. Read the official rules, understand AI photo limitations and take clear clothing photos without retouching.
Do not treat AI images as approved Vinted listing photographs. The official rules require photographs taken by the seller that show the actual item, and prohibit image editing. We found no exception for generated visualisations in the rules we checked.
Written rules and our interpretation
The requirements for your own photographs, accurate condition and no editing are stated in the Catalogue Rules. Our conclusion that a generated image on another person or background should not replace those photographs is a cautious interpretation of those requirements. We do not present it as a separate, explicit clause naming AI.
Labelling an image “AI” does not create an exemption. Additional photographs are part of the listing too. Seeing similar images in other listings is not approval from Vinted. Vougly is not a Vinted partner and cannot approve photographs on its behalf.
A practical unedited photo routine
- Use a neutral background and diffuse window light.
- Take your own full front and back photographs.
- Add labels, fastenings, fabric texture and every flaw.
- If the colour looks wrong, change the light and retake the photograph.
- Provide measurements and label composition without guessing.
Do not remove stains, smooth out wear or generate missing details. Retake a blurry photograph rather than hiding the problem.
Where AI can still help
A text tool can organise your verified facts into a draft description, which you must check. Vougly can create visualisations for channels that allow them or for planning outfits. Neither use makes generated listing photographs acceptable on Vinted.
Is taking the input photo myself enough?
It does not establish that a generated result meets the requirement for your own unedited photographs. The result is a new visualisation.
Does Vinted Pro provide an exception?
We found no confirmed exception for generated photographs. Check the rules for your market and account.
