AI clothing photos on models: how to check garment accuracy
Check colour, pattern, buttons, seams and cut in AI clothing photos. Compare Vougly inputs with generated results and use a practical accuracy checklist.
An AI clothing photo can look convincing while changing the product. Accuracy depends on the details, not just an overall resemblance. Open the original and result side by side, then inspect both at full size before using the image.
Five checks that matter
| Feature | What to compare | Reject the result when |
|---|---|---|
| Colour | Garment hue and contrast between panels | It suggests a different colourway |
| Pattern | Stripe order, print scale and logos | A repeat or wording is invented |
| Fastenings | Button count, spacing and zip position | An element is added or removed |
| Construction | Pockets, seams and lace | The garment structure changes |
| Cut | Sleeves, hem, collar and length | Proportions do not match the input |
Do not infer composition, size or authenticity from the generated image. Check the garment and labels. AI may also remove pilling, a mark or a repair. A polished image cannot replace photographs documenting condition.
Start with a clear input
Photograph the entire garment in diffuse light against a quiet background. Avoid overlapping items. Keep the pattern, fastening and outline sharp. If a feature is hidden, the model may reconstruct it incorrectly. Retaking the source photograph is preferable to accepting a guess.
Vougly examples: input and AI visualisation
These are our own Vougly results, using the identical input photograph for both modes. They are visual examples, not a sales experiment or a measure of reliability across the whole app.
Multicoloured crochet dress
The pattern repeat on the model differs from the input. An attractive silhouette does not prove that every coloured band is accurate.
White lace dress
Compare length, tier placement and hem drape. The visualisation does not establish how the dress fits a real person.
Olive cropped jacket
Check pockets, buttons, zip and hem. A pleasing background colour says nothing about jacket accuracy.
Before you use the result
- I inspected the original and result at full size.
- Colour, pattern, fastenings and cut are not misleading.
- My own photographs document all flaws.
- I describe the image as an AI visualisation.
- The intended channel permits this material.
Reject a result that changes an important feature and improve the input. Generating again does not guarantee a correction. Never make wear disappear to suggest that an item is newer than it is.
Vougly uses subscriptions. Each mode uses 1 generation from your available allowance; adding your own model is free. Check current prices and terms in the app. A visualisation is not evidence of fit or a sales guarantee.
Detail crops
Compare motif placement and crochet stitches on the dress, then snaps, pocket flaps and seam lines on the jacket. These are unretouched crops from the images above. Enlargement does not add detail, and the crops do not show the garment at an identical physical scale.
